COOK FILLING PASTA
Here is a quick and easy recipe for a lazy day. It is simple and needs just the regular ingredients from the kitchen.
200 gm or 7 ounces pasta(macaroni/ farfalle)
6 medium sized tomatoes, chopped
water(to boil pasta),
3 tablespoons of olive oil
crushed black pepper
a teaspoonful cayenne pepper powder
2 medium sized onions, finely chopped
6 cloves of garlic
a handful of chopped fresh basil or 2 tbsp dried basil
2 to 3 sprigs of thyme or 1 tsp dried thyme
a few leaves of oregano or a pinch of dried oregano
50 ml of milk
Take the pasta in a pot of water, bring it to the boil, add a pinch or two of salt and a tablespoon of olive oil and stir. Turn off the stove after 6 minutes.
Place another pan on a medium flame. Add 2 tbsp olive oil, chopped onions and garlic.
Stir till the onions turn translucent. Add chopped tomatoes stir intermittently till the tomatoes are tender. Add salt, a pinch or two of crushed black pepper, basil, oregano and a pinch or two of cayenne pepper(optional). Add milk, stir and cook for about 2 minutes.
Finally, add the boiled pasta and stir. It is better to boil the pasta while other ingredients are cooked. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve.(serves 2)
